Le Victoria Hotel Mauritius
Le Victoria luxury hotel in Mauritius has some of the most spacious accommodation, and unforgettable sunsets in the Indian Ocean. The location of Le Victoria is superb between the vibrant Capital of Mauritius, Port Louis and the fashionable Grand Baie in the north west of the island. The capital is well worth a visit, and can easily be done in half a day from Le Victoria Hotel. Port Louis has a new shopping development with boutique style shops and restaurants as well as the well known international brands. There is also the more traditional area where you can browse the shops and market stalls for gifts unique to Mauritius. Grand Bay is also worth a visit, perhaps in the afternoon where you can browse the smaller shopping centre, and then enjoy a sundowner drink overlooking the bustling bay, before returning to the hotel for dinner. The hotel itself has recently been refurbished with warm vibrant colours, all tastefully in keeping with the island of Mauritius. Every room is very spacious with at least 60 square meters in space, and are sea facing. The leading room category is the Superior Rooms which are all located on the ground and first floor, great for wandering out of your terrace into the gardens. If you prefer a stunning view, then the Deluxe rooms are all on the top floor and the view of the Indian Ocean, especially at sunset is hard to beat. These rooms have cathedral ceilings which enhances further the feeling of spaciousness. For families the Le Victoria is superb, the family apartments are all very spacious at 120 square meters and offer two large bedrooms, one bedroom and a lobby area which is ideal for dumping sandy lilo’s and flip flops! The wrap around terrace or balcony further enhances the accommodation, allowing Mum and Dad the intimacy of a drink in the open air, while the children sleep in the room next door. For those who are looking for a little more luxury or something extra special perhaps for an occasion like a Wedding or Honeymoon, then the suites are also worth considering. There are 6 brand new junior suites, with a ground floor location with access into the gardens. They have their own private decking and a sitting area in the bedroom. However the other Suites have the extra touch of luxury and space. There is a separate lounge for private dining for up to 4 adults, and a huge wrap around balcony. There are three restaurants at Le Victoria
all slightly different from one another. L’Horizon’s beach restaurant is open 6 days a week and specialises in fresh fish and seafood, it even has its own ‘Fish Market’! Le Superbe is the hotels main restaurant and overlooks the pool and lagoon. It is open for breakfast, lunch and for an evening themed buffet with live cooking stations. Finally La Casa is a romantic beachside restaurant with views of the twinkling city lights of Port Louis. The fare is Italian table d’hote and a la carte meals. It’s a really delightful setting for an evening meal with a smart casual dress code. Le Corail Bleu Bar is the main meeting point for pre and post dinner drinks. They also serve snacks and a selection of cocktails, including the Mauritian ‘Dodo’!
Other facilities at Le Victoria include the superb ‘Bob Marlin Mini Club’ which is unique to all Beachcomber Hotels. The children’s miniclub welcomes the younger members of the family from 3 to 12 years old, from 9am to 9pm daily! The clubs are all run by qualified professionals who provide fun and educational indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring that children are kept entertained all day! There are set activity programmes which you can dip in and out of if you want to spend some family time together.
For a little pampering for adults, there is a charming little wellness centre in the hotel. While not as grand as the spa’s of neighbouring resorts, you will still be pampered and spoilt with a massage, sauna or hammam at this luxury hotel in Mauritius.
